Born in Tijuana to a Mexican father and American mother, Urrea is the critically acclaimed, best-selling author of 16 books, including The Hummingbird's Daughterand Into the Beautiful North. Join "It's About Time" curator Steven Schick for a conversation with Luis Urrea about his life and work and their collaboration on a new version of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du soldat (to be performed at UC San Diego's Mandeville Auditorium on February 3rd) with texts from Urrea's writings. This edition of UC San Diego Extension's Public Events & Lectures series takes place at the San Diego Central Library's Morgan Auditorium.
