TWO OF PROFESSOR LEI LIANG'S WORLD PREMIERE COMPOSITIONS FEATURED ON PROMINENT MUSIC WEBSITE.
EAM (European American Music Distributors Company) highlights Professor Lei Liang âÄč's works on their recent newsletter, including two world premiere compositions, Lakescape VI and vis-à -vis. Landscape VI was performed at the Bennington Chamber Music Festival on July 25th and vis-à -vis will be performed at the Conrad Prebys Concert Hall during La Jolla Music Society's SummerFest on August 14th.
On August 9th, the same ensemble will perform Liang's Serashi Fragments in La Jolla.
Liang âÄč's work, Gobi Gloria, was reviewed by Rebecca S. Lentjes of National SawdustâÄč Log. Lentjes writes, "Gobi Gloria references multiple Mongolian musical traditions, such as long-song, folk songs from the Nei Monggol region, and the music of shaman rituals. The meditative roving melodies and unconventional textures sounded glorious in the acoustics of the Agnes Gund Garden Lobby".
The piece was performed by the AnsoniaâÄč Quartet at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
