CONRAD PREBYS CONCERT HALL TAKES SHAPE
|If you been watching construction of UCSD's new Conrad Prebys Music Center (next to Gilman Parking Structure), you've noticed that construction activity has dwindled outside. Inside, though, there's plenty of action as the project nears completion. The most spectacular space is the new Conrad Prebys Concert Hall, where a stunning acoustical ceiling of triangular forms is in place, and the hall is beginning to look like one of San Diego's finest. Our renowned acoustician Cyril Harris (at right in photo, with architect Mark Reddington) visited on June 23. Seeing it for the first time, Cyril proclaimed it a big success. Here's a slideshow from Cyril's visit.|
