CAMERA LUCIDA CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES AND KPBS BROADCASTS



  UCSD Department of Music invites you to the second of five Camera Lucida concerts on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the Neurosciences Institute in La Jolla. Recordings of the concerts will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on KPBS-FM (89.5) on the Saturday following the concert.The program for Dec. 9 interweaves Fantasias and In Nomines for strings by the 17th century English composer Henry Purcell with two of Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, No. 6 in B-flat and No. 3 in G-major. Acclaimed guest violist Scott Lee will join the musicians of Camera Lucida, a collaboration between principals of the San Diego Symphony and performance faculty in the UCSD Music Department. Upcoming concerts include a program of late works of Mozart on February 24; Schubert, Brahms and Britten with guest pianist Warren Jones on April 20; and Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire and the String Quintet of Schubert on June 1, in the new Conrad Prebys Music Center on UCSD's campus. The Camera Lucida chamber music series is made possible by a generous gift from the Sam B. Ersan Chamber Music Fund.
