UC San Diego's Department of Music

September 10, 2009

On Wednesday, October 7, UCSD Department of Music inaugurates its new Wednesdays@7 concert series, a total of fourteen concerts during the 2009-2010 season.

Showcasing the internationally renowned UCSD Music Faculty and extraordinary guests, Wednesdays@7 is the place to hear masterworks of modern music, cutting-edge improvisation, distinguished recitalists, and world music in dynamic performances--all in the superb new Conrad Prebys Concert Hall (except for To Be Sung, which will be performed in the Experimental Theatre in Conrad Prebys Music Center). The concert hall was designed by LMN Architects and renowned acoustician Cyril Harris and opened last May to rave reviews. In the words of Department Chairman Miller Puckette, "The Conrad Prebys Concert Hall comes as close to acoustical perfection as any space in the world today."

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. Convenient parking is available in The Gilman Parking Structure across Russell Lane from the Conrad Prebys Music Center.

Tickets for individual concerts are $25, with a 20% discount for current Friends of Music, members of the UCSD Alumni Association, as well as UCSD faculty, staff, and students. Series subscription tickets offer an additional savings. A five-concert pass is $100; a full-season pass for all 14 Wednesdays@7 concerts is $250.

Tickets are available through UCSD Box Office: 858.534.TIXS.
