LEI LIANG APPOINTED COMPOSER IN RESIDENCE AT UCSD'S QUALCOMM INSTITUTE



  Composer and music faculty member Lei Liang has been appointed Composer In Residence at the Qualcomm Institute, a division of the California Institute of of Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2). Liang will use the three-year appointment to expand his work on the leading edge of new music through collaboration with scientists and engineers. Liang is the third Composer In Residence, following Pulitzer Prize-winner Roger Reynolds and current Department of Music Chair Rand Steiger.
