WEDNESDAYS@7: KARIS CONDUCTS SCHOENBERG, WEBERN AND TALMON ON NOVEMBER 6



  Aleck Karis conducts the Music Department's Palimpsest Ensemble in a November 6 concert of early twentieth century Second Viennese School music by Schoenberg (Five Pieces for Orchestra Opus 16, chamber version, and Suite, Opus 29 for three strings, three clarinets and piano) and Webern (Concerto Opus 24) plus the premiere of Shetakh by UC San Diego composer Ori Talmon.

Wednesdays@7 is the department's new and experimental music series featuring visiting artists, renowned faculty composers and performers, and top graduate students. Up next on are a November Thirteenth concert celebrating the 70th birthday of Grawemeyer Prize-winning UCSD composer Chinary Ung; and a November Twentieth performance by percussion ensemble red fish blue fish.

All Wednesdays@7 concerts take place at Conrad Prebys Music Center on the UCSD campus, near Gilman Parking structure.

Tickets to all 2013-2014 Wednesdays@7 concerts are special Dean's Night events that provide free admission for the UCSD community with ID, including faculty, staff, alumni, students, and Retirement Association.
