UC San Diego's Department of Music

May 09, 2014

UC San Diego Department of Music and KPBS-FM are pleased to present the inaugural KPBS NIGHT at the May 28, 7 pm Palimpsest concert at Conrad Prebys Music Center.

Tickets to this event are free for KPBS members. Simply come to the concert hall box office beginning at 6:30 on May 28 and say "I'm a KPBS member". The performance will begin promptly at 7 pm and there will be refreshments at intermission.

Hosted by the Division of Arts & Humanities, KPBS NIGHT celebrates a vital mission shared by the division and the station: to present innovative high-quality arts, and to engage new audiences.

The concert is the season finale of the department's Wednesdays@7 new music series, and features the Renga collective directed by UC San Diego percussionist Steven Schick and San Diego Symphony violinist Kate Hatmaker.

Dean of Arts & Humanities Seth Lerer will greet the audience and Steven Schick will provide some background to the evening's provocative program.

Whether you are a dedicated follower of the arts at UC San Diego or a devout KPBS listener--or both!--we hope that you can be here. The music will be fabulous and we're sure you will enjoy rubbing elbows with your fellow arts lovers at this very special evening.
