LEI LIANG PROFILED IN HARVARD MAGAZINE, WINS KOUSSEVITZKY GRANT



  Composer Lei Liang is profiled in the January issue of Harvard magazine, where he talks about being a finalist for a 2015 Pulitzer for his piece Xiaoxiang and explains the personal and artistic experiences that led to the piece. Click here to read the article. Lei recently won a Koussevitzky grant to compose a new work for the Formosa Quartet. The award was given to Liang and San Diego-based non-profit Art of Elan, which will present the premiere on Mar. 29, 2016, at the San Diego Museum of Art. The music is an outgrowth of Liang's research into Taiwanese folk songs. To read more about Liang and the prize, click here.
