STEVEN SCHICK TO CONDUCT VERDI'S REQIUEM
![]() |
Distinguished Professor of Music and La Jolla Symphony and Chorus Music Director Steven Schick will conduct more than 300 musicians in a performance of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Mandeville Auditorium, with repeated performances at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 19. Presented as part of La Jolla Symphony and Chorus' 2016-17 season highlighting works created at the mid-point of composers' lives and careers, these performances of Requiem will display an immense collaboration as the symphony takes the stage alongside members of the San Diego Master Chorale, the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus and soloists Ariana Strahl (soprano), Victoria Vargas (mezzo-soprano), Robert Breault (tenor) and Colin Ramsey (bass-baritone).
Professor Schick will present a pre-concert lecture one hour before the concert begins. To learn more about the concerts, read the performance previews published by the San Diego Reader and the La Jolla Light, or visit the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus website. To reserve tickets, contact the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus Box Office at (858) 534-4637 or boxoffice@lajollasymphony.com. Note: the Sunday afternoon performance is sold out. |
