CONRAD PREBYS MUSIC CENTER OPENING CONCERTS ANNOUNCED



 

Conrad Prebys Concert Hall, the jewel of UC San Diego's new Conrad Prebys Music Center, will host grand opening concerts May 8 at 7 pm and May 9 at 8 p.m. The program is identical each night and features premieres of new pieces by UCSD composers Anthony Davis, Philippe Manoury, Roger Reynolds, and Rand Steiger, as well as music by Chopin, Ives and UCSD's Lei Liang, and performances by Mark Dresser, Aleck Karis, Susan Narucki, Steven Schick, the KaiBorg duo, and The The (Ed Harkins and Phil Larson). On Saturday May 9 from noon to 4, an Open House will give visitors the opportunity to tour the new building and hear live performances by Cecil Lytle, János Négyesy and Aleck Karis. Tickets for the opening concerts go on sale April 24.
