TAKAE OHNISHI PERFORMS BACH, LIANG PROGRAM

Harpsichordist and Department of Music faculty member Takae Ohnishi performed on April 26, 2017 in UC San Diego's Conrad Prebys Concert Hall for the first time since performing a program consisting entirely of Johann Sebastian Bach pieces on campus last spring. Returning to works by Bach and adding pieces by Professor Lei Liang, Ohnishi's program featured eight pieces in total, with special guests appearances by Quartet Nouveau violinist Missy Lukin and San Diego Symphony musicians Zou Yu (violin), Chi-Yuan Chen (viola) and Chia-Ling Chien (cello). The Wednesdays@7 concert was attended by several members of the campus and local music communities and was reviewed by San Diego Story and the San Diego Union-Tribune. Read the reviews in full here and here and reserve tickets for other Wednesdays@7 concerts taking place later this spring here.
