Joji Yuasa, Towards the Midnight Sun

This patch is in appreciation of Joji Yuasa's piece, Toward the Midnight Sun (1984), realized at UCSD's Center for Music Experiment. The piece is very spare in its use of techniques: filtered white noise and two-operator FM synthesis. This patch, which is included in the PD Repertory Project, contains an attempt to recreate the filtered noise synthesis, which was apparently realized by feeding white noise into three rather narrow-band filters arranged in parallel, equally spaced in pitch, to allow the "bandwidth" to vary with time given fixed-bandwidth filters. (This is surmise. the filters migth have been placed in threes for some other reason.)

The patch included here uses this idea as an excuse to introduce Pd's nascent graphical score editing facility.
