Welcome to the WBDS system. This multimedia carousel is a lightweight, web-based, slideshow system with image upload capability, designed to serve images to displays. Use the tools here to add or remove slides and start the slideshow. The slide show plays inside of a web browser which pulls content from Music's web server. In the case of the main signage system, there is one Mac Mini which plays the slide show and the display output is presented on multiple monitors throughout the building.
While the slideshow will play in any browser, best to use the most recent Firefox with fullscreen mode. The system is currently configured for 1536x1080 (with a main area of 1536x864 leaving 400 pixels for the the right frame, or realtime calendar). To preview the system on a smaller screen, start the slideshow, then use the cmd+ and cmd- keys to zoom in and out.
A page refresh is required to update new information. Trevor can do this manually, or the system can be set to auto refresh on a schedule. The only catch is, if the webserver is down when a refresh occurs, then the signage will not display.
