The "Phantom Words Creator" (aka PWC) is a web-based version of "sox_loop" (a tool which uses SoX to process, loop and fade WAV files).
This looper is specifically designed to create Phantom Words from two syllable spoken phrases or words. Upload a
stereo 16 or 24-bit WAV file and it will be looped with a fade in and fade out. Alternatively, upload a mono 16 or 24-bit WAV file and it will be converted to Phantom Word format (alternating syllables) and then looped with fade in and fade out.
The PWC improves upon sox_loop in the following ways:
Web-based - easier to use and requires less typing
File names - handles input file names with spaces and special characters.
Mono or Stereo - In addition to looping stereo files, the PWC will create Phantom Words from mono files using either a percentage duration (usually 50%) or a specified amount of time.
Tempo - Adjust the speed of playback (without changing pitch).
Experiment - See and play files directly in the web browser, then easily "Go Back" and adjust the settings.
