Wavetable Oscillator

Consider wavetable $ x(n)$ having one period (or cycle) of a sinusoid:

\scalebox{0.7}{\includegraphics{eps/costable.eps}}

To generate a 3-Hz sinusoid, read $ x(n)$ 3 times per second by using a 3-Hz sawtooth wave.
